The menhirs of Epoigny

Around 5,000 years old, the seven menhirs of Epoigny form the largest megalithic site in Burgundy. The most impressive, known as the Pierre des Tourteaux, stands 7.35 metres high and weighs nearly 30 tonnes. A remarkable site bearing witness to the earliest human settlements in the area.
The legend of the Vivre
In Burgundian legend, the Vivre is a mythical dragon-like creature with a precious stone, known as the escarboucle, set in its forehead. In the Couchois, its legend is celebrated with an exceptional festival held only once every twenty years. The next edition will take place in 2028: a rare event that keeps alive one of the region’s most unusual legends.

Le château de Couches
Overlooking the Couchois landscape, Château de Couches is an impressive medieval fortress, also known as the Château de Marguerite de Bourgogne. Its towers, ramparts, chapel and underground passages bear witness to centuries of history. An emblematic local landmark where heritage, legends and vineyards come together.

Les Nuits du Mont Rome
Every summer, Les Nuits du Mont Rome brings music to the heart of the Couchois. In the natural setting of the Théâtre David in Saint-Sernin-du-Plain, the festival offers concerts in an intimate and timeless atmosphere. Some performances also take place in surrounding villages, including Dracy-lès-Couches. A wonderful way to discover the area through music, heritage and landscapes.

Every year on the first weekend of August, La Ronde du Couchois brings the entire wine region to life. Every summer, Macadam Motors brings motorcycle enthusiasts together in Couches in a friendly atmosphere with a distinctly rock ’n’ roll spirit.
